When bidding via phone, your designated bidder will call you directly from the auction a few lots ahead to ensure you are ready to conquer the salesroom. When the lot opens, we will relay the asking price and follow your lead - so no matter where you are, you feel like you’re on the auction floor.

Bid By Absentee

If you have no time for a call and still want to save 5% on your bidder’s premium, an absentee bid is perfect for you! Submit the maximum hammer you are willing to pay and indicate if you would like to place a +1. We will execute your bid and attempt to purchase the piece at the lowest price, allowing for other bids up to your prearranged price.

Bid Online

You can follow the auction and bid online using our app and website, Vintage Accents. Place your bids as soon as the catalog posts, with the maximum hammer you are willing to pay. Our site will execute your bid up to the maximum amount and will even contact you if you are outbid. In addition, you can join the online salesroom when the auction goes live to bid on your intended piece as soon as it hits the podium.

All online bidders go through a vetting period. Our staff will approve or notify you of changes in your registration, such as being deferred or receiving a bidding limit. We highly recommend registering a week before the auction begins to make sure you are good to go!

  • The buyer’s premium at auction is an additional fee, charged as a percentage of the winning hammer price that the buyer is responsible for paying.

  • A +1 is a small but strategic option that lets you extend your absentee bid by just one increment. If there’s a tie between you and another bidder, the +1 will take effect, pushing you will go up an extra increment, potentially helping you become the winning bidder!
